- Shape and form
Q3(ii)Observe the artwork below and answer the following: ii. How is balance created?
Balance is created by arranging the dancers and musicians across the composition so that the visual weight is distributed evenly. The central musicians anchor the artwork, while the repeated figures, postures, colours, and bold outlines on both sides create harmony and stability.
Q3(iii)Observe the artwork below and answer the following: iii. Write about two or more aspects that attract you towards the artwork.
The bold black outlines and bright earthy colours immediately attract attention. The repetition of figures and their coordinated postures creates rhythm and a strong feeling of dance and music. The expressive faces and simple folk-art style also communicate the joy and togetherness of the Santhal community.

Reflection – Question 4
The following are sample personal responses. Students may adapt them according to their own journals.
Q4(a)Reflect on your own sketching and journalling process and answer the following: a. What themes do you enjoy observing and sketching from your surroundings the most?
I most enjoy observing and sketching natural surroundings, such as trees, flowers, birds, insects, and changing cloud formations. I also like drawing people engaged in everyday activities because their different postures and movements make my journal lively and interesting.
Q4(b)Reflect on your own sketching and journalling process and answer the following: b. Choose one page in the journal that you are most satisfied with. Give reasons for your choice in comparison with the other pages.
I am most satisfied with the page showing my school garden. The arrangement of plants, pathway, and benches is balanced, and the shapes, proportions, textures, and colours are clearer than on my other pages. I also recorded the date, time, place, and my personal observations, making this entry more complete.
Q4(c)Reflect on your own sketching and journalling process and answer the following: c. What did you find difficult or challenging while sketching and journalling?
I found it challenging to maintain correct proportions, capture moving subjects quickly, and fit the entire composition properly on the page. Drawing postures and showing textures were also difficult at first. Regular observation and repeated sketching without frequently using an eraser gradually improved my confidence and accuracy.
